Technology Team

Christopher Griffin

Principal, Creative Technologist

"Grif" utilizes his skills as a developer and architect in providing strategic oversight to ensure the customers' business interests are properly served by design and technology. Grif is to Saltwater what Lt. Commander Data was to "Star Trek: The Next Generation" - he's wicked smaht.

Greatest attribute: Ability to adapt to new technology despite a steadfast insistance that Pong is the most innovative video game ever created.

Greatest challenge: A clean walk up the stairs. Watch out.

Derek Allyson

Developer

Derek is a jack-of-all-trades at Saltwater (but don't call him Jack, he hates that), lending his development expertise on many of our clients’ web projects. He is a true student of his profession, as he is constantly learning and implementing the latest web technology as well as training others on these systems.

Greatest attribute: He is a certified scuba diving instructor, and at a place called Saltwater, it's good to know there's a guy who can pull anybody in distress out of the water. He can find buried treasure, too. You know, old coins and other shiny stuff.

Greatest challenge: Supressing a lifelong hockey habit so the disco dancer and karaoke superstar within him can finally shine. He may know how to skate, but his heart belongs to the performing arts.

Ryan Masters

Back-End Developer

Ryan’s expertise lies in database and object-oriented web-based application development with open source tools, PHP and Perl. He has an affinity for Linux systems and any Unix flavor operating system. He also has chops with application and web security.

Greatest attribute: Ryan is a precision guy. He arrives at work at the same time, departs at the same time and eats at the same time – 11:06 a.m., EST, to be precise – every single day. Precisely.

Greatest challenge: Maintaining that precise schedule. What if there’s an employee birthday lunch at 12:30 p.m.?! What it it’s a Sunday and he isn’t scheduled to work?! It’s not easy being a precision guy.

A virtual example of a Binary Clock.
We have no idea how they work, but pretty cool, right?
